PERSONALITY
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]They’re actually very nice to be around despite their flaws. Naolin can be very sweet and affectionate - even loving. They encourage their friends and build them up, and often they'll be the first to notice if someone needs a cuddle, a night out to forget or a slumber party for company. Vanity, thy name is Naolin. They are their own greatest love, and they are extremely proud of their appearance. Naolin is also mildly selfish and spoiled and inclined to pout if they don't get their way. They cultivate an image of being overdramatic and flighty in order to make people underestimate them, however Naolin is actually quite serious underneath. They do dress in whatever they believe makes them look the best, whether it was originally intended for female or male use never matters. They're a law unto themself, but if it suits their mood or purposes, they can follow someone else's lead. Naolin is the type inclined to more gruesome methods of intelligence gathering. In a spell battle or any kind of fight, Naolin has no regard for their health and will attack their opponents viciously, often only stopped when forced to or when death occurs. These occasions, and a few rare others are when one can witness just how serious and focused Naolin can be.
HISTORY
[attr="class","fbidossiertxtboxy"]Imagine having no history, no heritage, no trace of who your parents were - not even a name of your own. It might be difficult to believe in our modern era with our technological advances, but it's true, and it happened to Naolin. In fact, that's where their story starts. Odd as it may be in this world where everyone knows when their Name appeared - even if they were born with it - and often will remember where they were, too, Naolin has no such memory of when their Name appeared. Or of anything at all before they were found wandering the streets by a priest in Huesca, Spain, who happened to be the Faithful Sacrifice and recognized the significance of the word on the urchin's shoulder. The child looked as if they'd been trying to survive on the streets for a while; theirs was no recent abandonment. "Excuse you, I always look fabulous." Not now, we're telling your story. Taken away from the harsh life they'd known, Naolin was given shelter and food in exchange for minor chores that the five year old could do. The priest had no luck in discovering who had abandoned the child, and after a month had passed sent them on to Siete Lunas for training. There, Naolin was given a legal identity and a purpose. They developed in that environment, flourishing despite the harsh instruction they received. "I was, and still am, owned by the school, and thus the Headmaster, and they groomed me for a position as a Matador within the Headmaster's elite." There were plenty of Pastores to find new units and teach them. "Yeah, and Headmaster Vicario wanted as many weapons against the Rogues as possible." Quit interrupting -.-
At the ripe old age of 13, Naolin joined the ranks of the Matadores; not a single Rogue would have expected the school to endanger someone so young, but they quickly learned how wrong they were. The teen was sent out with Fighters among the Matadores and Dobladores to trap and bind Rogues. "They called me el castigador for how I would order the Fighters, and often went out alone to take care of the problem in a more messy way." Naolin was the punisher indeed, taking vengeance for the crimes the Rogues had committed. This life of violence left its mark on the impressionable teen, though. There is almost nothing that will save their opponent once Naolin has been released upon them.
After several years among the blood-soaked ranks, some kind soul decided to move the quickly burning out Sacrifice to a different division: that of the informant, the assistant, the trapper and interrogator. A much better fit for the now-20 year old; they would be of more use to Headmaster Vicario as a Doblador than a corpse. Which is exactly where they were heading at breakneck speed.
"I was not! I enjoyed my work, and I can't help they all pissed me off!"
Shut up and let me continue.
Naolin endured more training for their new position. To everyone's surprise, they picked up the required languages easily. Their taste for messier methods was applauded, and so things went. It was almost as if they were born for this job. At 22, Naolin was loaned out to the Italian school first, to test them like the others. "What happened there is never to be spoken of." Once they returned to Spain, they were given marching orders. There was a situation in the American schools that required information and possibly swift action. "It was a trap, and only one little thing kept me alive: my medical condition of all things. Once the situation was "fixed" to Headmaster Vicario's satisfaction, it was time for me to move on. I was required to assist in a dangerous trap in China, then it was on to Russia for some investigating. The years passed in much the same manner until I was sent to Germany to investigate a situation for Headmaster Vicario and intervene or assist the Germans as needed. You don't need to know any more than that so don't ask. Moving on. Before I had time to recover, I was shipped off to the Japanese school in Kibo to provide "whatever assistance is required" with the cover story of being the newest school nurse. The briefing had listed no set time-frame, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to stay long enough in this city to get comfortable."

Loathes:
Fears: A Rogue unit discovering their medical condition and using it against them in battle. Naolin also fears being permanently alone.
Strengths: Ruthless. They do not have a reputation for justice, but for vengeance and making quick, brutal work of Rogues they were sent after. Naolin has extensive training in a variety of weapons as well as hand-to-hand combat. Though when sent in for a kill they prefer to do it up close and personal, they do have sniper training and won't hesitate to use it when ordered to.
Weaknesses: Starve them of physical contact, and Naolin will likely break or go insane. Make Naolin mad and they go silent until they have calmed down, which can be used against them in a spell battle if one wants to avoid silencing spells. Their vanity is also a rather huge weak point in their ego; they may be incredibly confident, but they're rather fragile about how they appear to others.
Good qualities: Loyal to a fault once they've decided to give it. Like kicked dog coming back for more and even attacking in defense of its owner levels of loyalty.
Bad habits: Naolin tends to do things simply for the shock factor, especially if they get bored. They also have a taste for petty revenge under that sweet exterior.
Nickname: Nao, No, Ziggy, el Castigador (used extremely rarely as it's a reminder of their days as one of Headmaster Cruz Vicario's Matadores)
Orientation: Demisexual
Dreams/Life Goals: They'd like to become full-time staff at a school, any school at this point. Just settle into one place for a few years.
Language: English, Japanese, Spanish, Catalan, Italian, German, some Russian
Blood Type: AB+
Text color: #B5E1CA
Hair: short, rough cut and constant bedhead. silver in color, soft in texture
Ears and Tail: none
Eyes: right eye is red, left eye is grey, usually seen wearing eyeliner to emphasize them
Height: 5’9”
Body Structure/Physical Faults: : Appears lithe in clothes, but once uncovered it's obvious they work out and take care to keep their body in top condition for the demands of their job. Naolin has a medical condition known as situs inversus totalis, but this is not common knowledge. They are Spanish in origin and ethnicity.
- Touching: They will hug you, kiss you, and cuddle you in a purely friendly way. They love making contact with another person, so they're often found holding a hand, patting someone, or with someone in their lap (or in someone's lap). It's all innocent, though.
- Stuffed animals: They may or may not have a couple stuffed animals that travel around the world with them. These would be small and easily packed and hidden.
Loves:
- Music: Tone deaf is putting it lightly, but they adore singing anyway. They also love dancing and do it surprisingly well, considering.
- Food: While not a glutton, Naolin enjoys their food every time they eat. Food is an experience, not just fuel in their opinion.
Dislikes:
- Sleeping alone: Nightmares and difficulty getting to sleep (then staying asleep) out the wazoo unless they have another person in the bed with them. And they need their beauty rest or they get cranky.
- Sweets: They don't particularly care for sweets. They'd rather fruit over candy, but if there's a third option that's not sweet, they'll take it in a heartbeat.
Loathes:
- Interruptions: The one thing that will piss Naolin off faster than a bat of an eyelash is being interrupted. This can be in any situation for any reason, interrupting in any way, and prepare for fury.
- Photographs: They hate having their picture taken and have a 98% success rate at avoiding it. No one is sure why, but they rip up and burn every picture of themself and even attack people that make the attempt at photographing them.
Fears: A Rogue unit discovering their medical condition and using it against them in battle. Naolin also fears being permanently alone.
