Valshe had escaped from his piano playing as he sighed with hands in his pockets. "Such a boring day and yet he wants me to play in this humidity? He has lost his mind." He said as he looked at the piano set up. He was supposed to be recording a song since he lost a bet. He stopped a few feet from the lake and looked up into the sky through the blossom trees. The breeze was slight and yet cooling. He looked around as he sat on the park bench and looked back at the piano behind him while the crew tried to work with the lighting currently.  He looked back up and sighed as he reached for the sky.  "Too bad I haven't seen anyone in a long while. Not even shortstack." He commented wishing he had seen the Headmaster of the academy just to harass him.     "Hmmm..." His face furrowed slightly as he recalled the Head of Household ordeal at the funeral. Yue was treated so badly and his face seemed to look slightly angered. "I wonder how she is doing." He said as he rubbed his temple a bit. "I don't need a heat migraine..." he sighed but he was worried about her. "You won't talk about your failures. Why?" ~ Vash

It had been a few days since Huan Yue was able to slip out quietly. She hadn't exactly been given permission to leave, but that was nothing new. At least since her favorite cousin had been officially announced as the Head, the others had eased back on her. She was still upset he wasn't currently talking to her, but the truth had had to come out sometime - as much as she'd tried to hide it. In some ways, he'd reacted both better and worse than she'd expected. Given both too much time to think and not enough, her mind was a mess. Her heart felt on the verge of breaking. She had to get away before her tormentors discovered her crying alone. It wasn't exactly a secret in the family that her protector wasn't by her side any more...yet his wrath had fallen on those who'd harassed her during this time of - was separation the right word? Either way, out of the house and off the property she ended up.

The girl's mind was preoccupied with heavy thoughts while her body went through the motions of humming a tune and admiring the world around her. The city park had ended up calling her to it, as if she'd find the answers within - or at the very least, solace. She'd been having...dreams. A quick peek around showed no one around to notice her, so the teen quietly let her ring loose. She told herself it was practice; if she could control even this one thing, then her trainer would finally approve. She wasn't a proper Sacrifice, but she was trying, damn it! So her attention left the heartbreak behind and focused entirely on making her ring soften. Her goal was to brighten someone's mood a little - not the usual grins she brought, or even heaven forbid the giddiness she'd triggered at the funeral. How can something so simple be so hard? Came the thought as she fought against the invisible source of joy within her, standing still as she struggled. Control had always been the problem; it seemed like her emotions had more of a say than her Will did!

Movement to the side had her blinking back to awareness. She'd stumbled upon a set up for a photo shoot? No, it looked more like a video, if her eyes weren't deceiving her. There was a piano sitting in isolated glory among the workers hustling about...but where was the star? Casting her sky blue gaze about, her question found its answer sitting on a nearby bench. After checking her dress for suitability, she slid soundlessly onto the bench next to the frowning Heir. "That's gonna give you wrinkles before your time," she gently teased. It was good to see her friend again. The last time she'd seen him hadn't been a good time, but...he already knew her. He knew her struggle with her Ring, as she knew his. They'd bonded long before they'd found out who their families were, and in this insane world Valshe was one of the three firm shoulders she had. She stumbled a little, mentally, over that...or was it now two? What would she do if Taki never talked to her again?

Valshe had been staring at the sky for a bit more so unfocused as he let his mind wander. He sighed once more until a familiar voice was right next to him. He turned to face her and smiled happily, "Just the person I was just thinking about~ Hello Yue!" He said as he hugged her and smiled. He cared not for other people seeing him hug her right now. It was just the staff here as he smiled looking at her hair. "Oh man look at your hair! Well aren't you pretty~ So what brings you out to the park today?" He asked her as he brought her closer to him. "You are not a stranger and I don't bite." He said as he looked over at a guard and waved him down. "Get me 2 crepes and 2 bubble teas." he said as the male left them to talk.     Valshe looked over at her and smiled softly, "Man it has been what....months since I had seen you and talked to you? The funeral if I am not mistaken. Usually you are an escape artist. Security must be tight around the home huh?" He asked a bit concerned knowing how they treat her is just wrong but he has no rights to help her. "You won't talk about your failures. Why?" ~ Vash

Relief flooded her as his frown left, surrendering to the joy she brought with her. The hug didn't surprise her, in fact it seemed to be just the thing she needed to hold the despair at bay for the time being. A positive reinforcement that she was alive, that she was wanted. It was rare that she truly messed up around Valshe, the funeral not withstanding. It had been a slip-up that had taken both of them to cover up, but at least it now meant she was allowed to see him without sneaking out...in theory. The reality meant she was guarded so much more closely than before. As if she was some sort of treasure the family didn't want, but also didn't want another family to possess either...

The girl blushed prettily at the compliment; her hair was a small source of pride, so the fact he'd noticed pleased her immensely. As she snuggled into her friend's side, he ordered crepes and bubble tea for both of them, making her smile. An expression that was a struggle to hold on to when he asked what she was doing out in the park; hesitating to answer, she let him speak some more while she tried her best to get herself back under control. Ears back and down, showing her real feelings, Yue didn't need to look to know her tail curled around her leg as if to minimize her silhouette as she carefully responded. "A lot has happened since the funeral. I've missed you, though Vash-sama! You look amazing...are you here to shoot a video?" It seemed pretty obvious to her, but he could have been backup or something - making it the polite thing to ask. "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" It always made her nervous to think of getting in the way; the people around her always seemed so busy. Not to mention how many of them get mad at her for it, and the girl didn't want Valshe to ever be upset at her.

Valshe looked behind him and waved his hand a bit annoyed at the whole set up. ”Nah. You aren’t bothering me at all. I lost a bet to someone so now I have to record a video among the blossoms in this summer heat….” he wiped the sweat off forehead as he looked up through the trees. He put the glasses on her face and chuckled, ”So a lot has happened since the funeral? That doesn’t sound good…...Like it is almost a really bad thing.” He said as the guard returned with their food and drink. Valshe took them and handed her the crepe and bubble tea. ”So until I can come up with a song to play then I am lost. So lets chat as we eat shall we?” He said as he smiled and took a bit from his crepe. ”Mmm soo good! I am so glad he placed ice cream in this one so I am going to give him extra for this run.” He said as he looked over at her. "You won't talk about your failures. Why?" ~ Vash

The news of the bet perked the girl right off. Grinning like the cat that got into the cream, she couldn't help the giggle as she asked, "What was the bet?" Admittedly her friend made quite a sight sitting among the blooms dressed as he was. It was still funny though, since he very obviously was annoyed about the whole thing - not in a ragey way, more in a way it was safe to tease him about a little. She looked away for a second, and when her attention was back on him, she found sunglasses being tucked behind her ears. They were much to large for her smaller face, but it seemed to make him happy, so she simply pushed them to the top of her head - the way she'd seen cool girls in movies do it.

"It's been good and bad, but I don't really want to talk about it today," the girl answered quietly, resolving not to let it ruin her mood any more for the time being. She stared at the food and drink in her hand as his words washed over her, letting the peace wash over her. It was always so hard these days to stay happy. Nibbling on the treat, she didn't notice him looking at her as if waiting for a response. Instead she started humming quietly to herself. It was a deceptively simple song, but one she adored. It was, naturally, a love song - not a typical one expected of a girl her age, though. It was almost too slow or unsure of itself for that, which only made her love it all the more. The ice cream was slowly melting in the heat, so she was careful not to get any drips on her dress. That'd give the game away when she got back to the house...or the guards found her before she was ready.

Valshe ate a piece of his crepe before he answered her and chuckled, ”Oh it was a bet with a college friend who produces music videos he felt I have a nice voice so if I got lower than an 96% on my test I had to do a video for him.” He made a face but laughed as he drank some of his tea and listened to her humming. Why did he know that song it sounded familiar and yet something he felt he could play. ”Mmm okay..” He said as he tried to finish the bite that he took and try not to drip on his clothes. ”Please don’t be mad at me but what you are humming right now sounds familiar. Yet I can not for the life of me think of the name or the words but I feel I know it. What is the name of that song if you don’t mind me asking?” He said as he began eating once more. She was content, sitting there humming to herself and enjoying the day, the company...the food. She zones out until his voice brought her back out of the relaxing spell she'd been under. So startled was she, the first words out of her mouth were the next lyrics to the song she'd been humming - much to her embarrassment! "And I see your true colors, and that's why I love you," Blushing as brightly as possible, she cast her eyes anywhere but his face, clearing her throat. "I, uh...the song is, um, True Colors. That sounds...right."

She polished off her ice cream-laden crepe and whipped out her phone, hardly even wincing at the lack of messages or calls from Taki. "I can pull it up on youtube for you?" Still bright red, she at least meets his gaze, violet to azure. Smiling shyly, she wondered just what he would make of the song. Would he make fun of it or listen understandingly? She sincerely hoped he wouldn't tease her too much about accidentally singing part of it...then tripping over her tongue when she got embarrassed. That would just top the whole thing off. Idly, she sipped on the bubble tea as she waited for his answer, the song not-so-obviously already pulled up from where she'd been listening to it earlier. It was a song that both made her feel sad and comforted her in this time of trial. She could pretend Taki was singing it to her, telling her that all was forgiven and things could go back how they were. It hurt all the more when the song ended, but sometimes she thought it was worth it. The times she couldn't pretend that, it made her hurt that there was no one to sing it to her, that she was, in the end...alone.

He smiled as he brought the food to the piano quickly, ”No not at all!” He said as he flipped his light jacket out and sat on the bench the crew looked confused since they heard him failing at keys prior because there was no tune. His food he placed on the piano as he as he began to play the tune where the chorus started. The small crew there sort of stopped what they were doing as he smiled, ”So don’t be afraid if you let them shooow, Your true colors, true colors are as beautiful~” Nimble as anything else as he continued to play the song on the keys not stopping now that he finally had a song he could play that matched the world around them currently. Continuing to play he turned to her and smiled cheerfully, ”Sooooo I know this is sudden but you did help me a lot with this video. Would you like to sing with me? I mean nothing a little covering couldn’t help to hide you but I feel if we sing this together as I play it will help place both of us in a better mood.” He said as he stopped playing. He looked over to one of the crew and advised them to never have the drone up close but he did believe in the cameramen to never show her face. Now for a attire fix up and he smiled when he thought about it. ”Come sit with me real fast Yue. I have an idea~” He said happily as he pat the bench he was now sitting on. It was startling how fast it all happened. Going from barely recognizing the song from a hum to playing it on the piano like a master...it was just...astonishing, really. Huan Yue could barely suppress her ring as the excitement caught hold of her, following him to the piano. She cradled the tea in her hands as she sat beside him obediently. "Do - do you really think they can hide me? What's your idea?" She'd been wanting to sing a duet with someone for the longest time, but no one had ever displayed any interest before this. Valshe didn't even know what her voice sounded like when she sang, and here he was like an angel sent from above - asking her blindly. It made her heart skip a beat to think about it. Even if they had to go to extra lengths to keep her out of trouble for it.

"I mean...I'd love to sing with you, Vash-sama," she smiled up at him, their heights not as different sitting as they were standing. It brought her closer to his face and the stunning clarity of his violet eyes. She leaned in to whisper so only he could hear, unsure if the crew knew what they were. Her voice was quiet and hesitant when she asked, "Do you think I could practice control of my ring while we're singing? It's soundless if you remember, but I'm trying to make it so people don't notice it's been released. Suddenly smiling out of nowhere is suspicious..." She was perfectly fine with him saying no, but if he said yes then she'd gain a temporary pressure-free practice zone. No one to tell her she screwed up again, since if it came to the worst, the crew could put it down to the adorableness of them singing together on a beautiful day or something. However she didn't want to overstep her bounds, which was why she asked in the first place. "Either way I'm happy to just spend time with you, Vash-sama."

When she rejoined him but at the piano this time his smile returned as he played a few keys. He stopped just to eat his treat before it got all over the instrument. He sort of wolfed it down as she spoke to him about her ring. Once he finished he whispered back to her that he was fine with her using her ring. Once he finished his treat and had the tea left he stood up and removed his light summer sweater placing it around her. He helped tie her hair up and placed his hat on her head. ”There now. It isn’t perfect but it should be good enough.” he said as he walked over and was given another hat and jacket that matched her. He had another pair of sunglasses as well except he placed his on top his head. When he returned he made sure to place the glasses on her face. ”Okay so they may be big but try your best okay? Need to sort of match here.” He said as he sipped some of his bubble tea once he sat down. The crew gave a thumbs up that they were ready so Valshe turned to her. ”When you are ready you let me know~” He said as he smiled a bit. "You won't talk about your failures. Why?" ~ Vash

From the top of the hill, she could see the bench they'd sat on and wondered if it wouldn't make a better video than this ostentatious rug and grand piano setup. She wasn't sure what to make of it at first when Valshe laid his jacket over her, but then it clicked into place. Of course, he was just helping to hide her. That idea was firmly sealed into place with the hat covering her pretty hair - the same hat he'd been wearing about two seconds ago. She blushed a little at the thought of being so completely covered in his things...as if she really belonged here with him. It was a heady feeling for the lonely girl. She playfully winked at him and saluted when he slid the glasses from the top of her head back to cover her face. Unfortunately, they slid down her nose, but Huan Yue thought she was able to fix them so that it looked on purpose. Everyone looks different in the 'cool' style than they do normally, so she figured it'd be fine.

After settling the jacket more comfortably, the teen nodded at Valshe, "I'm ready, Vash-sama." She calmed her breathing and timed the release of her ring to the melody; singing was second nature, her ethereal, breathy voice calling tales of fairies to mind. She was a Matsumoto, if there was any kind of entertainment talent there to exploit, each and every one of them had been trained thoroughly. It was sort of a family thing. At least she assumed so, having received the training herself. As Valshe's voice wrapped around her, the girl understood why the friend had made this bet. He really had something worth listening to. It was spellbinding to have someone to sing for, to pour her heart out to. The gradual raising of joy throughout the people around them was unnoticeable in comparison to the tone of the song.

At least it was until near the end. Singing a love song with an attractive male, even if he was her best friend, caused her to act a little more giddy and flirtatious than she normally would, completely forgetting the camera crew watching them - recording them. The hat slid off a little when she rested her head against his shoulder, but Huan Yue neither noticed nor cared. She was more relaxed than she'd been in days, a serene smile dancing across her lips as she leaned against him though the last few words. Unfortunately, her ring reacted to the bubbling happiness she felt and came across stronger than she'd wanted it to.

The crew didn’t need to do much and by following the simple instructions they were given the video came out lovely. 2 voices that had a harmony, a synergy no one would know let alone expect. Valshe only sang out as a side hobby to relax his nerves. The other was part of the household of creativity. Some with forced talent while others were were natural hidden gems and Yue was that perfect hidden gem. Just as his fingers finished off the last few keys she leaned her head against his shoulder. He smiled as the crew gave the thumbs up they finished filming. ”Yue-chan That was amazing and you have such a beautiful voice nothing less than expected.” He smiled happily as his phone rang from his pocket. He dug into his pants pocket and looked at his phone, ”Speaking of my pestering demon himself.” He sighed as he answered his phone and made sure Yue’s face was covered. ”Hey I shot your damn video……..Wait you did what now?” He happened to look over at the drone then groaned. ”You are a dick you know that right?” He said as he sighed. ”So you watched the whole thing?.......it is a friend of mine don’t worry about it….yeah……..alright…….later.” He said as he hung up and shook his head. ”Well he watched all of that live…” he said looking at the drone. It was so...nice to sing with Valshe that she didn't want it to end. He seemed relaxed, maybe even enjoying it too; it helped that he didn't make her move off his shoulder either. A small blush stole across her cheeks at the thought of just staying here like this for a whole day. He was comfortable, in more than one way - and...and maybe this was exactly what she needed. Taki couldn't be her whole world, and Valshe...he was already a known quantity. He knew her, cherished her the way she was - at least he acted that way convincingly enough for her.

The whole thing left her a mess of confusing emotions. Unsure of herself, Huan Yue pulled away from her friend as he spoke on the phone. She didn't intend to listen to the conversation, considering it rude - but she was so close that she just couldn't tune it out. Was...was his friend asking about her? How'd he know she was even there? No one was supposed to know. Dropping into a semi-frozen lake wouldn't have matched the chill that filled her limbs and raced down her spine as panic filled the girl.

Her ring intensified painfully, lashing out at those around her to incapacitate the perceived threat with laughter hard enough to ensure her escape. She snapped down on it, shutting it off with a nearly audible pop. Surely the crew would be clueless and confused, but Valshe would know what happened. Hiding her face in his chest, the girl breathed through the panic - ears flattened back completely against her skull and tail frizzed out as large as possible.

It had been live. That meant that surely someone had seen, had...had seen her. She couldn't talk her way out of this. This was going to get her into so much trouble! A single thought broke through, I was disguised the whole time. Slowly she calmed down enough to speak, though she didn't raise her head to look at her friend. It was bad enough this was the second time he'd witnessed her lose control, she didn't want to see his face - see the disappointment that was surely there. "How long was it live? How...how many people saw?"

Valshe just hugged her and smiled once he hung up. ”No worries Yue-chan. It was live only to him and no he didn’t see your face. He only saw your backside. But he said he will make you appear as a ghost in the video so you will be harder to see. Does that sound okay to you?” He asked as he watched them all beginning to pack up. Valshe picked up his bubble tea and pat Yue’s head. ”Let’s move as they pack up.” He took her hand and helped her up as he began walking with her to the lake to walk around. ”I am sure they will find another location here and I will be recording something else.” He chuckled as he looked over at her. ”Would you like to wait here with me for a bit as they look around for another location?” "You won't talk about your failures. Why?" ~ Vash
