To many people the word sacrifice is to give up something or be the bait or fodder for the ultimate cause. In the unit world sacrifice has a different meaning. You see these people have given up the strength of battle in order to use tactics and will to overcome their enemies. The sacrifice takes the blunt end of all damage in order to see their plans make it through to the very end. The commander on the unit battlefield and one everyone should be weary of. Playing on the namesake they were chosen by or given by their partner plays a key role for them. Issuing commands may seem easy but being light on the mind is tougher than being light on the feet. Some sacrifices are humble humans with every care in the world to ensure their fighter is cared for. Some are genuine assholes and when it comes to battle their smirks seem to be a never ending trait. Others care not for anyone else but their unit. How they achieve victory may very well be a life sentencing if the other teams are not careful. Others are offspring from a dedicated line of supreme Sacrifices their skills they feel will be top breed regardless what is tossed in their wake. We will break down the aspects of a Sacrifice and their will of survival.
The Will Within People are born to be a part of this cycle some consider to be a special community. How this all plays out is unique based on a persons' genes and their parents attributes. A Sacrifice is born if their will meter is higher than most. This means they have the commanding options available to them but they can not fight. This may seem like a cliche of sorts but the Sacrifice has to have the intelligent levels and will levels high before they can become a Master Mind. Training of course is a must and to become great you must learn from those who are already Sacrifices. You must train your will to be much stronger, your body to endure levels of pain, your mind to be sharp like a needle and adaptability as a precise mechanism. With these in tact you will become a Master Mind Sacrifice. A Sacrifice has a unique plan that is hidden from the world unless they make it known. Some even keep their true intentions away from their partners and lovers until they feel they are ready to reveal it. So what makes their minds all have a similar tick? Lets dive deeper into their bases.
The Patient Strategist Will makes up the strength of the Sacrifice of which they can control their turn on the battlefield. The will in simple terms is similar to a Fighters strength. Their mental capacity shows just how mentally fit they are and how strong their commanding skills can be. The higher the will the longer they last in battle and in rare cases the more Fighters they can have bend to their demands. The will is a key soul of a Sacrifice and without it there would be no Sacrifice. Mental Defense is the barrier to help protect the Sacrifice from some levels of pain. As a reminder the Sacrifice receives the damage the opposing Fighter casts out. If this is still low chances are you can not last long in battle against stronger opponents. If your defense is higher than some of your other stats you may not be able to maintain your will commands for very long. Your barrier will last until it can no longer withstand the damage it has sustained and it will fall. The barrier is extra protection from the heavier damage in a sense. This does not mean you can't get cuts, bruises, or gashes if it is still active. Fleet is changing the course of battle. This is determined by your Units affinity and your strategy. How fast you think on your feet may very well help you change the tide of battle in your favor, neutral once again or against you. You use all of your units energy in the affinity bar to do such a change and the team will suffer fatigue or exhaustion. If your fleet command points are high chances are you will only suffer fatigue and the battle can end in your favor. If it is too low you both may suffer exhaustion and it can count against you. Influence is how much impact another Sacrifice can affect you. If your influence is low that Sacrifice can issue the flee command and it will force your unit to disengage in battle. If your influence bar is higher than the other party they will sustain some damage and confusion for a turn. It is similar to the reflector spell. Command is the other half of the Sacrifice's mental artillery. The points here determine how strong your commanding power is and how much you can control your Fighter, or bind a Fighter who tried to attack you alone. What you say has a lot of power in it and how you wish for your commands to be carried out is important. Learning to master this ultimate base of your power is essential. How you command your Fighter on the field will truly be a test of your will and tactics. This command works on Fighters and Sacrifices based on your stats versus theirs. Every Sacrifice commands their unit differently. Some are precise to the finest detail for their Fighter to follow. Others are very lax and issue a simple base command giving their Fighter freedom to execute their own skills creatively.
Searching for Thee As a unit we are paired off with someone who will be our Fighter. The person who we place our life in and our dreams of carrying out our missions we set for the duration of our life span. Sometimes a Fighter is born in our family line, like an aunt, cousin or sibling. Sometimes they are developed as best friends, play siblings, even lovers. On rare occasions a Fighter has to be made because the original was killed off or never came to be in the world due to Fate twisting the cards. In essence when we are born we are beginning life, when we attune to our namesake we then begin our journey into the unit world. As the search for our other half is a continuous journey throughout our lives until he/she is found we must train. As we train many times our bond will have indescribable sensations which course throughout our entire body when our Fighter is around. Until that day comes we must prepare our will and plan our motives in detail to assure we know what we want to accomplish. For some it is to rule a part of the universe we live in. For others it is to crush a house which has been an eye sore. Even some plan as far ahead as to become the Emperor or Empress of Japan. Others the forbidden knowledge is a must have; an asset that is needed to further our plans of domination. As we train our Fighter will more than likely be doing the same. As they say Fate has a funny way of bringing things together that we need. If you have the resources you may have someone searching for you or as some Aristocrats have done is send a temp Fighter to you so you can excel in your training. It is not an uncommon practice since our minds can wander at times. If you can not remain focused it can hinder your commanding abilities. Keep in mind that you need to remain sharp at all times regardless if your true fighter is there or not. When the line of Fate decides to cross with you two your bond will know. When you meet it will be a moment you will never forget. As stated before sometimes Fate has a cruel or twisted intention and we may not have our true partners in this current timeline. At this point this is when you gain a Blank Fighter or claim a Fractured Fighter as your own. The work load on training your Fighter is still the same but your benefits you will be able to reap more due to the fact they never had the name or a name from the very beginning. Once you are bound together the bond will have a unique feeling and ring to it that states you both are now a whole complete unit.
Synergy with Affinity Once your Unit is formed you now work on the next step. This process takes a long while to master and even to this day some Units haven't gotten through the basics of it. Synergy and Affinity goes hand in hand. Training, battling, commanding, defending, fighting, rings, environments, and consequences. Everything attributes to your Units Affinity Meter and Synergy in battle. This contributes to your commands and the power you have over your Fighter. In turn it can determine your tenacity and toughness to reach your outcome in the battles set before you. An understanding of each and every aspect of your Unit and bond is vital in order to overcome your trials together successfully. Namesake is the name that appears on the body. A very common trait that boosts your Affinity level is having the same namesake located in the same exact area of the body with the same type of typography. It is not common to have a unit with a namesake in different locations but it is rare for it to be in different locations with different typography. This doesn't mean that your unit is weaker or your bond is helpless on surviving. It just shows that the namesake holds a different meaning to you and your partner. As you train you both will try to find a middle ground that you can agree upon. This helps your bond and Affinity to grow and become more powerful than when you started. The namesake is also tied to your Fighters Skills and your Commands. Everyone has a certain number of elements they utilize in their commands. For example lets say Integra Hellsing, featured on the left, is paired with Alucard as a unit. Their namesake is Redemption. Integra is the Sacrifice who mostly uses Dark Skills while Alucard uses Blood Skills. Her command of Casting of the Holy Grail is issued. It is a dark skill that surrounds the opposing unit in a locked location of dark matter as Alucard casts the blood needles from all directions to stab the Sacrifice and end the match. The combination of Dark and Blood skills gave them a unique skill and yet their time in training helped tremendously in this. Another aspect of the namesake that should be looked into is the meaning. One word can have multiple meanings. The definition is important because that follows with your Synergy and helps fill your Affinity meter. Redemption to Integra means to redeem ones old deeds by doing the bidding of good. To Alucard it is reincarnating the soul from the former self which in turn is death in his eyes unless you are a worthy plaything. In the end they share the same name but they both hold to heart a different meaning. They come to a middle ground of torturing the soul or scaring to near death the unit whom they deem to need punishment. Affinity is the bonds balance and how close you both are. You don't have to be lovers in order to have a high affinity but you both have to have a high understanding of each other. An Affinity meter changes daily by moods and what happens during a battle. Having a high understanding of your goals, wishes and battle strategies is essential to gaining high affinity. It goes without saying: Understand and the doors shall open. If your bar is low chances are your battle will not go as planned. You will argue, disagree and possibly even fight. This is when things get out of hand and the bond does suffer physically. It may feel weak which can cause fatigue, painful which can become a number of things, or even shake which can cause a fracture in the bond if things become too aggressive. Because the Affinity bar is a daily fluctuation based on your interactions together it is best to keep the bar high when you both part and when you both are together. Understanding is your key word of keeping this all very high. Synergy is the way you both fight seamlessly. The mind, you the Sacrifice, and the body, your Fighter, work together in a seamless action and together dish out attacks and shields with ease. This is what many try to achieve as quickly as they can but this is something that takes time to master. Synergy if done correctly can become so perfect you almost won't have to whisper a word. It would seem you and your Fighter work on one mind and together can execute the tactics without missing a step. No arguments, no second guessing, no questions, just like a doll where you command and it is executed with precision. It is not an easy thing to accomplish and even harder to do if you both don't practice together. That is not to say Synergy will never exist within you two its just that you need to make sure you have it when it counts. Like affinity synergy fluctuates daily but it is important to work on it and keep it up. The more you both can work together seamlessly the chances of it staying high is definite.
Tact and Suave As the Sacrifice your commands must be given with passion, meaning, tactic if anything. If your commands lack any emotion then your Fighter will either become confused or won't listen and do something else they deem to be fit for the current battle. Our commands are vital in the battle since we see things in a clear mind and scan the overall picture. That is not to say your Fighter can not do the same but their mind is trained to be focused on your words and their target(s). In training you both have a certain target or mock battles to help get you prepared for an actual battle. A real battle is the ultimate test every test will try you to no end. Some even will alter you and your Fighter for life if situations become dire. As the Sacrifice you will be helping your fighter Engage in the battle while keeping in mind the full surrounding. Once you know what you are around you can quickly determine what you can use and what can even be used against you. Keeping this in mind is essential so no surprises will catch you completely off guard. Once the battle has been engaged your opponents are the next best thing for observation. It doesn't matter if you have fought this team before or if it is someone brand new. Many will be training and their tactics will change from the last time you have met them. Keep in mind you never under or over judge your opponents because they may have surprises hidden. [If the unit is a known Rogue unit that you have seen in your database of emails or even in flyers around town this is a unit to capture and turn in for a prize reward. These units are very dangerous and most fetch a very high price alive. It is best that you try to keep your wits about you and help your fighter navigate to end this swiftly before being caught in a web of despair. If you can capture the unit successfully it is up to you and your partner what you wish to do. Turn them in for a reward or set them free under conditions. That is a thing to discuss between all creators involved in that battle.] Once the other team engages battle, if you were first to engage you go first in turn, you should be prepared to strike or defend. Having a solid plan of your battle is essential so you can have a clear outcome. Sacrifices should be able to see where they want to be and what they have to do in order to get there. If just winning the battle is it then your strategy should be good on that end. If it is to harm the unit and cause them to be out of the games for a while make sure you are reading your opponents carefully. If it is to bind and give stipulations you must be prepared for anything because your opponents have the same radar under their scope. Killing an opponent is rare but it does come up from time to time. If this is an outcome you must be sure to be stronger than any one else on the field and that your fighter can handle such a responsibility. Although you may be mentally prepared your Fighter may not be. So be sure to train them to be ready for such dire consequences to come up. The battle may be in your favor and some Sacrifices tend to let some things slip up. A good Sacrifice will remain sharp at all times because your opponent may very well issue Fleet at your point of victory. If the Fleet command was issued it gives the team a chance for a breather and it may do 1 of 3 things. Oncoming attacks may be nullified if you both are equal in Affinity. Block the attack but will have some minor damage sustained. Or be high in Affinity and skill bouncing the attack you just sent back to you dazing you for a turn. Although you will lose a turn in the field so you can regain your barrings it can cost you the match if you can not quickly assess the change of battle. The other thing will either be fatigued or exhausted so the field is equal since both will have one or the other. Which means the battle can end at any given moment if an attack is given at the right time. Influence the opponent to play right into your web with gentle pushes and teases to wet their appetite. Satisfy them and snatch it from right under them. Many ways to surprise your opponents from their goals and give them the feel that they have done what they could. Talented members will trick their opponents into winning a battle and then giving a surprise. Others have done the round about method as if playing cat and mouse. Your influence is to give off impressions to the opposing Sacrifice and Fighter. Some flirt, some tease others do nothing. Playing and yet giving nothing away is key as you play this coy game of chess and chance. Keep your influence at a steady pace and everything will fall into your plan. Once you Disengage from battle you can tend to your Fighter, your wounds and your mindset. Take care of everything and keep up with your Affinity. Your mindset should be stable and you should make a check list to ensure everything is okay before you leave. Once you are all together you should be stable to move with your Fighter and continue on with your day. Unsure that you have nothing left to tend to or no clues of your battle. A clean disengage can leave standards on how people see you and your group. Leave a clean place and no problems then you are better than most.
Shattered Sacrifice Sometimes an unfortunate event will occur where we become incomplete once again. This is when a bond breaks or is forcibly severed by someone. Now to you this may seem impossible but never think for a moment this can never happen to you. Lets go over bond itself then the most common ways it is tampered with to cause such a devastating outcome. First and foremost I want you to understand this can happen to anyone at any given time. Despite how hardcore you may seem to be the effects of this separation is very real and the results and effects will remain with you for life no matter if you remain shattered or gain a new partner. Bond is the link, connection, between a Sacrifice and their Fighter. It is their very heartbeat and essence which shows they are a unit by nature. This bond always starts as fragile and it takes the two to work together to make it strong. Like a thread that is being woven into a grand piece. Together the woven pieces make this bond strong but even a tiny snare can unravel it. If a bond is too fragile it will shatter and this causes devastating results. As a precaution we ask that all units try to keep a healthy bond at all times. One way a bond is broken is the most common and that is through the death of your Fighter. Again as mentioned before some units are out there with the intention to kill. Although spells primarily focus on targeting the Sacrifice some do expand to the fighter as well. Fighters have a high thresh hold against pain but they are not invincible. Too much damage to anyone can wear them down and ultimately kill them if it is consistent. The death of your Fighter can happen one of two ways: in battle and out of battle. Each is different and the effects will vary based on the person mostly. Sometimes the namesake will attach itself to your effect. In battle deaths tend to be the most painful. If your Fighter is losing blood you should Disengage the battle and forfeit the match so that you can tend to him/her immediately. Some units intend to kill so you may have an issue if you are locked in the match and can't disengage at all. Try to protect yourselves as much as possible and do what you can to keep your Fighter alive. If your Fighter can no longer sustain life and dies on the field the battle will automatically shatter and you will feel pain all over. Some Sacrifices have reported a burning sensation and ringing in the ears. Again everyone will feel something different and these effects stay with you for life. Once your Fighter has died the bond and ring will go silent. Sometimes it will hallow out your ring. If you were a Blank Sacrifice before your name will lose color and look like scarred lettering. Out of battle deaths are mostly common for any unit. Some of it is through natural causes, accidents, or intentional harming. These are still painful to go through but not as massive as the in battle deaths. Most report a very sharp pull at their heart and a massive bucket of ice washing over them. The effects here are mild mostly sometime sever but again that depends on the person. If you have a weak system or you have underlying diseases they may spring up to the surface based on your amount of shock. It is a traumatizing experience and counseling is recommended when you go through this. Internal shattering is when someone in the unit decides to break off the bond and make themselves unusable by their person for life. This is also known as stripping. The street term for it is common and yet this practice is rare now. Some countries have it as an illegal practice. This is when you or your Fighter decides to break the already fragile and cracked bond. This shattering effect causes a lot of pain because it is you tearing it from the heart and breaking it physically. Effects vary based on the person. If you break the bond you should be prepared to face the consequences of doing such a hurtful ordeal. You will be known as a Shattered Sacrifice. Your name will have a scar on it and your bond will be very thin even if you bind to another. External shattering is when an outside source forces your bond to break. This is when the bond is physically exposed and is cut from you both. Sometimes this can cause death to one or both members. Only a very high level unit can summon forth someone else's bond. There are evil people in this world willing to cut and sever bonds for their guilty pleasure. This is usually done by older members of a family or at times a syndicate. Mostly the elder members still know this method on pulling out a bond physically and doing what they deem needs to be done. This causes a lot of harm to the unit because at times they may not be able to stand seeing each other. You can try to re-bond but it will need lots of therapy and rehabilitation.
Beyond the Mind What is broken can be fixed with the right utensils to do so. The mind is a very powerful tool and it can do a limitless amount of things if you allow it to. You can repair and rehabilitate yourself to be better each and every time you attempt something new. You will succeed in becoming a mindful Sacrifice. You will fail at times when a plan was flipped or reversed on you. As a Sacrifice you know more about the mind than anyone else. You know how to assess things on the field and utilize everything as best as possible. You know how to protect your shortcomings if your plan fails. You are the weaver of designs and the master puppeteer when your plan comes to fruition. Survival is key to everything and it is needed from all beings. Some Sacrifices utilize just enough to survive while others pertain to the old saying that life is based on survival of the fittest. Utilize your best tool of the trade and push through life getting to your destination. Ensure your plan succeeds and follow through to another plan. Reach your ultimate goal and train your Fighter to follow suit. Develop unique tactics to ensure everything runs smoothly even at the drop of a dime. You never know what fate will toss at you when you least expect it. Play around a little and toy with your enemies. It may peeve some to no end but it will be games for you. Unite with your Fighter. Train hard to become one and unleash them as a secret weapon when the time is ripe. Create a strong bond that can withstand the fall of a mountain. Create new spells, strengthen old ones, use different methods on casting spells. Use a different language or create a song. You want to be different you want to be unique. Together you should make something stand up and help you create your legacy in the end. As a Sacrifice you need your Fighter and together you should make yourselves known to the world as the most powerful unit or most unique. Do what you can to keep everything in your favor. Be the sharpest tool in the shed and work out every angle of a problem until you solve it in more ways than one. See about making a trip to the deep recesses of your mind and work in details of your plan to be executed at a later date. Outwit your opponents, bend them to your will, command them to do your bidding and conquer the ultimate playing field. Prepare your battle board and sit in wait. Then let the games begin~
