Beauty in all of nature
Welcome to Utsukushii Prefecture, or the Rurals as the locales call it. The place known as "Beautiful" and is nothing short of the word would describe it. You have to visit this place and experience it to understand why the locals take such great care and pride of this area. This location is one hour and twenty minutes away from the main city and twenty minutes away from the base of the mountains. Everything is covered by beautiful flowers, trees and wildlife. The essence of nature and the synergy of living as seen sometimes only in tour guide books. Over time, people moved here to enjoy the serene view of nature right in their own backyard. Many of the houses here are old fashioned and so are the traditional methods of growing and maintaining everything here. You will find people hunting, fishing, and making things the traditional way that the city may not have seen very often ranging from accessories to food.

Travel further inland and you will come to the farmland area.

Walk around and you will see some homes nestled in the gardens of old. Most were built by the Samurai families of the Sengoku period.

You will also find the Train Station out here. If you plan to travel across Japan, you will have to use the train, fly ,or drive to get to your destination and the train provides a wonderful chance to see the countryside at your leisure.
Life as it is
Most of the local history isn't actually gone. Most just hasn't been recovered yet and the ones that were are held in the museums for safe keeping. Here, there are mostly oral traditions and it is not uncommon for the locales here to share such important history. Despite the city being just one hour and twenty minutes away, the people here love their open spaces and the beauty of nature all around them. Even though some work in the city, many love coming home and going back to traditional country living. The city supports this area and in turn, they support the city. Farmlands provide many of the city's food supply. The Train brings visitors and cash to upkeep the area. Gardens to help relax and calm the city dwellers when they need a vacation. Lastly, the people here are eager to show off local traditions and share their way of life to those who are curious. Come and join a piece of living history!
