BULLYING POLICY
Loveless Redemption staff would like to remind all users that there is an absolute ZERO TOLERANCE bullying policy in place on the site. Bullying in an online sense is defined as as an intentional act that causes harm to others, and may involve verbal harassment, verbal or non-verbal threats, stalking, or other methods of coercion such as manipulation, blackmail, or extortion.
Bullying may be intentional or unintentional. However, it must be noted that when an allegation of bullying is made, the intention of the alleged bully is irrelevant, and will not be given consideration when meting out discipline. As in sexual harassment, it is the effect of the behavior on the individual that is important. Loveless: Redemption considers the following types of behavior examples of bullying:
- Verbal bullying: Slandering, ridiculing or maligning (speaking about in a spitefully critical manner) a fellow site member; persistent name calling that is hurtful, insulting or humiliating; using a site member as butt of jokes; abusive and offensive remarks.
[li]Exclusion: Socially excluding or disregarding a site member in site-related activities, such as during chatbox conversation, private messages in which the site member is present, out-of-character forum areas, and within in-character thread tags.[/li][/ul]
In addition, the following examples may constitute or contribute to evidence of bullying:
[li]Using obscene verbal behaviors (such as telling a site member to go f**k themselves).[/li]
[li]Not allowing the user to speak or express himself of herself (i.e., ignoring or interrupting).[/li]
[li]Personal insults and use of offensive nicknames.[/li]
[li]Constant criticism on matters unrelated or minimally related to a staff member's job on the site.[/li]
[li]Ignoring or interrupting an individual within the chatbox.[/li]
[li]To ensure that all users have read this policy, staff asks that you please send a PM to Mod Cali titled “bullying policy”.[/li]
[li]Constant nonconstructive criticism regarding a user's characters, writing style, posting format, or otherwise rp-related postings.[/li]
[li]Spreading rumors and gossip regarding individuals.[/li]
[li]Encouraging others to disregard a site member's ideas, whether creative (plot-related) or related to site maintenance.[/li]
[li]Taking credit for another person’s creative ideas.[/li][/ul]
Please understand that this policy is ZERO TOLERANCE. Upon the first report of alleged bullying, all staff will look into the matter. If bullying was determined to have taken place, the pronounced bully will be banned from the site for 30 days. Upon the second report of alleged bullying (whether from the same member or a different member against the same bully), staff will again look into the matter. Should bullying again be determined to have taken place, the pronounced bully will be permanently banned from the site. This goes for chatbox bullying, in-character areas, out-of-character areas, and private messages. We do not give three strikes when it comes to the emotional safety of our site members. In the PM to Mod Cali, please include in the body of the message “I, [your username], have read and agree to the terms of the site bullying policy.” A mass message will be sent to all users on 3/3/16. From that date, the next time of login will be used to calculate response time. If a particular user should log in 3/3/16 and not respond within 48 hours (by the end of 3/5/16), said user will be cut off from roleplay abilities until the message is received.
